Ministers - People of St. Paul's

Meet our Staff at St. Paul's

Reverend Burkhart| Reverend Minnich | Dave Berndt | Carmen Buckley | Steven Ruppright | Sue Blevins | Sue Wineholt | Wilson Graf | Maureen Sponseller

Pastor Bob Burkhart is a graduate of The Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia, and comes to us from the Northeastern Penn Synod, where he has been serving for nearly 10th year as pastor to St. John’s ELCA in Mohnton. He and wife Marcia have been married for 35 years and have a daughter, Lara, age 25. Marcia is presently a homemaker and will eventually be looking for employment to begin getting established in the Hanover Community. Lara is a recent graduate [and Choir member] of St. Olaf College, now living in Philadelphia where she is also pursuing a career.

Bob has been an active Synod servant and is a Clergy Council Member of the West Berks Mission District. He has been trained and certified in Intentional Interim Ministry and has served as a consulting pastor to several ‘traumatized’ congregations. He has led and encourages others to participate in “hammer and nails” ministries and other outreach efforts to help our needy neighbors everywhere, and he has for 15 years been especially active in working with the elderly and struggling families of Sea Isles Gullah Community in South Carolina. He is a Chaplain to the Pennsylvania State Police and also to Lodge 65 of the Fraternal Order of Police and has served both law enforcement communities as Officiant at PSP/FOP Memorial Day at the State Capitol in Harrisburg.

In his spare time, for “battery charging” and relaxation, Bob is a recreational outdoorsman, having been introduced and raised to hunting, fishing, and wilderness adventuring from childhood.  For the past several years, he has been sharing his joy for the outdoors and especially for fly fishing with others as a partner and co-instructor of an “occasional,” not-for-profit fly fishing school, that holds classes and retreats for clergy and church groups at his “camp” in the North Central PA Mountains.
